I know some of you might be wondering what the heck Honshu Weyr is and who the heck am I? Well here's the short version:
Honshu weyr is located on a MUSH (online role-playing game) based on Anne McCaffrey's DragonRider's of Pern Books. It is a place where fans and non-fans alike of Anne's Pern come together and role-play living on Pern and interacting with others with the same interest. Honshu is located on the Southern Continent of Pern and I am a character there (V'ran). I must admit that I've been playing Pern MOO's and MUSH's for many a year and have thoroughly enjoyed pretty well every moment of it. If you're a fan of Anne McCaffrey and her books this is definitely the place to go. There are other games out there but I find this one one of the most enjoyable I've been on since I started doing this over seven years ago.
If you're interested in visiting SouCon (That's the name of the game where Honshu is located) you can telnet there or use a MUSH client to get there at this address: 64.139.44.194 Port 4201 and follow the log-on screen's instructions. Oh, by the way Honshu isn't the only place on SouCon nor is dragonriding the only occupation there...there are lots of areas and lots of crafts/trades that you can join which are lots of fun. Oh before I forget, Gar Hold is on another game, this time a MOO called Harper's Tale. You can get there at this address: harpers-tale.com Port 7007 It too is way cool but is alot larger than SouCon, but is also based on Anne McCaffrey's DragonRider's of Pern Books. You may notice that there are subtle or not so subtle differences between games, that is because they are based on different timelines from Anne's books.
