For the most part, Losia had a normal enough childhood. She had the responsibilities of being the middle child, with on brother and two other sisters. The eldest child in the family was Orria, while their lone brother was the youngest. Her mother and father, who were posted at Yukon Hold, were journeyman the Harper and Beastcrafts. While Orria was mostly in charge of the children, while their parents were doing their duties, Losia would often be termed second in command for when her sister had other duties to do around the Hold itself.

When Orria left home on the fateful day of message running, Losia was put in charge of her siblings. Later during that sevenday a note was received that was sent from Orria, stating that she found a calling at the Weyr and that she was now a gardener there. Visits of course were welcome, and the note scrawled on a bit of hide said she hoped her parents were too unhappy with her. Since that day however, Losia has become the eldest and so took on most of the duties Orria once did herself. Losia especially made sure the youngest brother was well taken care of.

Besides these every day duties, and the duties of taking care of her siblings, Losia was taught how to sew and do the duties of a seamstress. While this wasn't her life's vocation Losia found she had skill with the needle and thread, and her mother when she found this out even tried to help Losia see her skill through with lessons with the local Weaver that was posted at Yukon Hold. However unbeknownst to all but Orria and Losia themselves, Losia had another dream. When Losias parents weren't around, or at least when she thought they weren't, she would often sing to her younger siblings while she worked. It was obvious when one heard her voice that she had a natural aptitude for singing, though training would be need for her voice to fully mature. But sadly Losias parents, especially her mother, never really heard her daughter truly sing with her real voice and so thought the weavercraft and its hall would be the best bet for her daughter. So in the end Losias mother started to pressure her middle child about joining the weavercraft.

About this time a note written upon a slightly better hide than the last one was received from their wayward daughter and sister, Orria. It seems Losias eldest sister had been searched and Orria had agreed to stand at the clutch at Honshu Weyr! While they were still a little miffed at their daughter, the news was still met with excitement. To have a rider in the family was just as good as having several crafters. And so Losia found herself in the position of riding to Honshu Weyr, to make sure Orria received their reply of yes they will be at the hatching to cheer their daughter on. The whole family would eventually come, though the mother and father and sister and brother would be coming when the dragonriders picked them up when the hatching actually started..

But Losia found herself riding to Honshu Weyr, to visit with her sister, as well as deliver the note. It was decided she would stay until the hatching started, since word around Honshu and even Yukon Hold that it would be much longer now...

Losia of course saw this message delivering as a good thing. Perhaps like her sister she too would be able to realize her dream, and be able to step away from her cloying mother, albeit loving mother, but cloying none the less. So with saddled runner in tow, Losia started on her trek towards Honshu Weyr and hopefully onto perhaps, Harper Hall.
