Born in a cothold close to Ista Hold, she helped her father in the Beasthold to care for the animals every day of her childhood. She loved healing animals with him but her mother, a Harper, constantly tried to get her interested in following her steps...After many discussions, she agreed with her mother to give it a chance. Melika memorized all the ballads/songs note perfect and worked hard with her mother to learn various aspects of the craft like building her own instruments and the dos and don'ts for teaching...all of this made her realize that she indeed loved the craft and everything came to her naturally. She loved singing, teaching and playing various instruments when ever she could, even in the Beasthold where her father worked...she knew she had found her call. Now, it was just a matter of looking at her options for joining the Harper Hall as soon as possible.
After joining the craft, Melika started her intense studies and busy schedule as any other harper apprentice. Not much is to say here as she stayed out of trouble hoping to help herself and try to advance in rank faster. Months passed until she became mentee to Journeyman Laurenlee and moved to Gar Hold. Hold life was different than the Hall's and her time in Gar was always put to good use. She made many friends there and practiced her playing in public. Learned about the Hold life and found out it was what she would want once her apprentiship was over. A few months in Gar went by and as summer approached, there was rumors of them moving...and so not too long after, they were in Keroon Hold.
Keroon Hold was the wildest place she'd ever seen. And as she got less and less worried about the relationship part of the "do not" rules of the Harper Craft, she found herself in the arms of a certain person. That only reminded her of her past love from Gar Hold though and as she began to miss him, she took any opportunity to volunteer herself to carry packages or help the harpers in that Hold. Her search for the love of her life was long as he was heard of by some but they never seem to cross path. She so happen to end up in the arms of a few that volunteered to make her happy....but that wasn't what she was searching for..
Getting older by day, or so she felt her biological clock ticking, Melika went into a whole new approach to life. The Craft meant the world to her but, she began to feel as if she was only doing this to please her mother the Harper Master, and not herself. Things needed to change...and she was torn between a craft she was drilled into to love, hence did, or to rediscover herself..
Melika handed in her knot to Sr. Journeyman Liesana after a long discussion with her...saying she was leaving for what she hoped were greater bigger things. Her time spent thinking made her a strong believer in destiny and the call was coming from Gar Hold. After approaching Natch (Holder) and Markus (Steward) asking if she was welcomed back, she moved into the Residential area for the first time and was now looking at a new beginning..
After a short period, it was noted by Petrin (Gar Headperson) that Melika needed to start giving to the Hold. The Orchard was always in need of extra hands...but the Garden's attracted her more. An interview with Aidany (The Garden Boss) and Tierza (Assistant Gardener) went well and got her to care for the Kitchen Garden and Herbs. Was it a coincidence that she was now acquiring the experience to compliment those of her loved one?!

Kaetiera
Kaeti and Meli are very alike, except for the fact that Kaeti has grown very mature for her age due to having taken over at home when their mother totally concentrated on her Harper duties/business, and Melika the eldest child, left home for the Harper craft. She has learned a lot about management and keeping all in line in the house as their father was very busy with taking care of animals around their cothold. Having moved to Grinstead for a while, as if to hide from the world, Kaeti got very bored and decided to move on...applying for a job at Gar Hold as Assistant Steward to get close to her sister and be someone of importance.
Marek
Marek is the older brother in the family. He helped around very little, but was always there to protect his sisters and brothers. Typical lad, he enjoys life at it's fullest, loves trading for fun and ride runner beasts for the mere feeling of being high above the ground. He walked about Pern, traveling for fun and to get away from his father...ended up in Keroon and somehow joined the traders. He's been debating about joining the Herder's Craft lately though...but would he be able to be serious and keep in line with craft rules?
Chava
Chava is a bit younger than Kaetiera. She's kept pretty much to herself while they grew up but now has joined her two older sister in Gar Hold...but as an appy Baker. Yay, she's going to bake us goodies!!
Janicka
Janicka is the hyper harper...youngest sister. Never seeming to belong in most places, she traveled a lot, seeking the perfect home. From her parents at Ista, to Gar with her sisters, then to Keroon with her brother. Loving the runnerbeast, Jani stayed in Keroon. Still knowing she did not belong, she flashed back to the handfasting at Gar.
Jani had always been a fan of the harper craft, but really became interested when she saw the harpers there. Elegant and beautiful music, as well as the jumpy cheerful kind found Jan's heart. Jani moved right out to the hall and was interviewed for joining. Though she started at the low, she never loses faith in herself...
